Alright - I'm a fan of mountain top grills, but this place is just great. I spoke briefly of the 'Taphouse in my review of Snow Summit, but I think I need to add a review here too. I've eaten here in the summer so I don't know what it's like during the ski season - my review is bike park season based. You can choose to order from the outdoor grill or the indoor deli area - both have lots of tasty choices. I'm partial to the outdoor grill and their fantastic pulled pork sandwich. Check out the menu before you go - let the internet assist you - but don't be surprised when you get to the top and the food is right there; maybe you'll change your mind and order more than you expected to. The prices are WAY reasonable for the location so you won't regret the purchase. There's lots of seating - no hunting for a table - and practically no waiting. The staff are super friendly - they'll take time to explain your options and the ingredients and all - just ask away - they seem genuinely happy about it quite honestly. Then take your food to your table and enjoy. Indoors or outdoors. Mountain bikers, hikers, families, buddies all around doing the same thing in the clean air. Views of the north or the south side of the mountain are incredible so just drink it in.
The Mediterranean salad was very good! You can choose what your base is (hummus, naan bread, rice) and then you get to build your own salad with many toppings. You get to choose if you want chicken shawarma, meatballs, or lentils chickpeas as the protein. We got the chicken shawarma and it was amazing! Very delicious and flavorful! It was nice that they have great healthy options at the top of the mountain. Would definitely get this again!
Vegan options? I'm sure there are plenty of vegan restaurants in Tustin. Maybe you should stay down there and eat. The Taphouse is fine just the way it is.
I don't think our visit here could have been any better. Everyone on the mountain was so KIND and generous. Having lived in Texas AND Colorado, I have to say that this restaurant is just as great as youde find at other world-class ski resorts with their amazing views, activities around you and world-class smoked BBQ! Their sauces are standard but the meat is fabulous! Brisket, Brat, pulled pork or skewer- they're all tasty and tender. There is a veggie skewer and kale salad if you don't like meat. Highly recommend the trip up the ski lift for this.
I find it funny for someone to give a bad review because this place doesn't offer VEGAN meals. You got to be kidding me. Pack a dinner if you are choosing to be picky or look at the menu ahead of time. The menu is limited and it is impossible to cater to everyone's needs.
